About

Keenan Ellis
Hello,
My name is Keenan Ellis, and I'm a Developmental Editor. I work with prospective and professional authors to turn their writing into a publishable manuscript. Whether an author comes to me with a single idea or a completed rough draft, I help them develop their prose, structure, and central idea until their book is the best possible version of itself.
When I first meet an author, I encourage them to think of me as bumpers in a bowling alley. Once we have decided on their vision, it's my job to make sure the book follows that agreed-upon direction.
My services are designed to provide long-term support. While I do perform single-pass edits, my specialty lies in regular meetings with authors. As they craft and refine each chapter, I offer notes, writing direction, and organizational structure, keeping my clients focused and aligned with their vision.
I worked as a writer in Los Angeles for eight years. Working primarily in children’s animation, I wrote several video series for the Barbara Sinatra Center for Child Abuse, the Hero In You Foundation, and WonderMedia. I also founded the podcast production studio, The Fool’s Gallery. There, I produced, wrote, and directed two audio drama podcasts: The Phone Booth and The Endless Ocean.
